* Source picture size

The individual census report displays an undocumented feature? The picture for a source cannot be resized until the program is shutdown and re-started. The change is accepted (ie 38mm to 200mm) but has no effect if simply regenerating the report. The program has to be shutdown and restarted. I noticed this on a couple of other reports also. Any ideas?

It was discussed on the mailing list and Simon has acknowledged it as a bug and I believe that a fix will be either made available as a patch or as part of an update. I don't have any connection, other than as a customer with Calico Pie, so the last part is just my perception from what was said rather than a promise from Simon, I don't want to make trouble by making it seem that he has made a promise he hasn't. As there is a workaround I suspect it will be part of an update with other items that may come out the woodwork over the next couple of weeks.

However much you test with a small test department and group of beta testers that is swamped by the amount of usage straight after release, apparently just TWR shipped 500 updates on the first day. That means not only more hours of use but also many more styles of use so some bugs are almost bound to be found unless we were willing to pay the price for programming in the style of safety critical software to avoid all defects.

I'm hoping to get some time in this weekend with my v3 Family History I think it's great so far and want to get to know the new ways you do some things to get the added benifits.

Nick is quite right. There is a small bug here, but you get can get round it exactly as he says - i.e. change the source picture size and press OK to save your change. Then close the report and re-open it (just clicking the 'Rebuild' button isn't enough). Thereafter your source picture size will be as specified.

He is also quite right that we put out patches from time for any bugs that emerge, and this one will of course be fixed in the next patch.

The work around as Simon says does not need a re-open of the program, simply change the field. Click OK, close the report window and re-open it. The change will take effect.
