On version 2, i used to be able to have a diagram open, then select an individual and add a new multimedia item to that person.
However on version 3, although it lets me add the new multimedia item, it won't allow me to select the 'type' (i.e. jpg, gif, etc) as it says that the multimedia object is in use, even though it is a new object with no content ! The only way i can set the items is to close down the diagram.

Can you detail exactly what you do, I can add mutimedia etc with out a problem, but there are so many ways to do it, that might be the problem.

Hi Jane,
Bring up a diagram, say for example the Ancestors and Descendants. The i double click on and individual, and go to the 'All' tab, and then right clicking to use the menus to add a new multimedia object. This gives you an empty multimedia object attached to teh person, which then proceed to fill in the details (or try anway).
What i have just noticed, is that it still works fine if the person already has an image attached, but not if they don't. Also the diagram actually changes as soon as the empty multimedia object is added, as if it is expects to have an image to display !

Seems to only be a problem if you use the all tab, if you select the person and use the insert picture from the menu it seems to work fine, so if you do it that way, it will be a work around for now.

Hi Jane,
Yes, I know there are plenty of other ways, with such a flexable program there always is. [grin]
I have just grown use to doing that way, as i found it easiest.[smile]
