Pictures in version 3

I have added a picture, but do not seem to be able to view it. How can I delete the picture which I know is still there somewhere because of the file size?

Have you tried viewing the multimedia tab on the records window? Does it show there?

Just an extra reminder to everyone not to use the embed option in FH

Having ignored the advice not to embed pictures, I now find I have a HUGE file, even though I have deleted the pictures. I want to upload my tree to Genesreunited but it's so big that it won't work. How can I UNembed the pictures and make my file smaller? Please don't make me redo my tree as it's been three years in the making and well over 1000 entries! [cry]

The easy way

1. Make a copy of your file
2. Select split tree helper on the copy and select delete all media records.

For GR it's also a good idea to delete all source, repository, submitter information, personally I also delete all 'distant' relations, eg more than 1 generation from a direct ancestor.
