I have been trying to adapt Jane's excellent Ancestry lookup plugin for the Cornwall OPC site. My aim was to simplify it enormously to put in just forename, surname, start date and parish (which I'll amend immediately by inserting '%' wildcards as the site has set up parishes as 'Ewe, St' rather that 'St Ewe')
The ancestry string in the plugin is:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss ... n_xcl={sex}
I have amended it for the OPC to
http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/se ... &bf=Search
(I put 1900 in to provide a reasonable death age else it searches just for one year.)
My problem is that the query only works for the census years and I do not know which bits to lop out of Jane's code so that I get the nice table, but with the link going where I'd like it to and for it to work with pre 1841 people.
Here's the sort of result I would like to see
http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/se ... &bf=Search
Can anybody help?

Chris, it should be pretty simple to change the template, there is an array of checking dates and a loop you can remove. Just remove the checking loop for the census which is within the 'person loop'.
This is the top of it
This is the top of it
Code: Select all
for i,cDate in ipairs(CensusDates) do
if bDate:Compare(cDate.DatePt) < 1 and dDate:Compare(cDate.DatePt) > -1 then
-- Alive At Selected Census
-- Check for Census
cPtr:MoveTo(pi,'~.CENS[year='..cDate.year..']')
if cPtr:IsNull() then
-- Census Not Found and Person Living
