Occupations Per Census Year (and Gender) ~ New Plugin

Occupations Per Census Year Version 1.3 is in the Plugin Store.

This Plugin scans your GEDCOM for Census Events (but not Census (family) Events) to determine their Census Years.
It then scans for Occupation Attributes and counts how many times each Occupation appears for each Census Year, otherwise it is logged under Other.

The statistics are displayed in a Result Set that can be printed, sorted in various ways, or saved to a PDF, TXT, or CSV file.
The CSV file can be opened in a spreadsheet for further analysis.

The Result Set details can be contrasted with:
Tools > Work with Data > Occupations...
Publish > Special Data Reports > Data - Occupations
View > Standard Queries > All Facts sorted by Fact to inspect Occupations

Occupations Per Census Year and Gender Version 1.4 is in the Plugin Store.

Supersedes and improves Occupations Per Census Year by supporting Occupation Date Ranges & Periods and checking that the Individual has a Census Event in the relevant Year.

In addition it summarises Occupations against Male and Female and Unknown gender.

Hi,

I just downloaded and ran the new plug in. The only census year it showed was 1860 [US here folks] - and the list included "auto assembler" and other auto related jobs.

What is it that I am supposed to get in this report? It obviously is not sorting by census year and there doesn't appear to be a way to change the year. The other columns can be resorted but that doesn't break down the time frames.

Yeah, I know, some of this is STILL way over my head. But we SO appreciate you, Mike!

I thought this Plugin might not need any Help & Advice pages, but maybe I'm wrong.
Its purpose is to show the demographic distribution of Occupations across Census Years and Gender within your database.
i.e. What was the most/least occurring Occupation in the 1860 Census Year, or for Females.

The Plugin is specifically looking at Individual Census Events recorded in your database (not Census (family) Events).
It automatically adapts to every Census Event Year it finds.
It is not working on historical US or UK Census years, just your database.
The Plugin is saying your database only contains Census Events dated in 1860.

It then tabulates every Occupation Attribute in your database.
These will only be counted under a Census Year if the Individual has a matching Census Event in the same Year as their Occupation Attribute, otherwise it will be counted under Other.

Each Occupation Attribute is also counted under the Gender (Male/Female/Unknown) of the Individual.

Thanks for the vote of appreciation!

Steve, please don't go through all your plugins asking if they will be updated.
The authors, myself included, are working as hard as we can to update them all, but we do have to sleep, eat, etc.
Patience is a virtue. :D
