I have downloaded the search and replace from the plugin store and it appears normal in both the FH editor and PsPAD, if you download it from the store is it OK for you, if not it's possible it's a FireFox feature.

I have performed a Plugin Download Now! with Firefox and that has restored the conventional single CR LF.
So cannot say how the CR CR LF came about.

I have Hex edited my version of the Plugin to replace all CR CR LF with CR LF.
This version should be in my SkyDrive folder soon.

Off to watch my grandson play football for his school now!

The good news is my grandson's team won 2 - 0.

The bad news is I am having trouble with a new version of SkyDrive, but the updated Plugin is now at last there in SkyDrive Search and Replace MBT.

Is this version of the Plugin now OK, or do the Date invalid & date phrase warnings need to be incorporated into the main GUI window?

One unfortunate side-effect of the Date invalid warnings is the Record Updated date gets bumped because the Date field has to be written in order to use the GetDataWarning function.

I think it's OK Mike, I have not had time to give it a good work out yet, do you want me to get Calico to move the search replace to your ID and then you can post the upgrade?

If you like, that will be fine.

I think it should be in your Plugins now

Search and Replace V1.7 is now in the Plugin Store.

This version:
  • Supports Date fields, with optional Date Warnings for inconsistent Dates such as an Event dated before an Individual was Born.
  • As requested in a Comment against the Plugin, popular FH field names are supported such as Place , Address , Notes , Where Within Source , Text From Source , Multimedia Keywords , etc.
  • Fixes a bug that often prevented Lua Patterns (like Regular Expressions) from working.
In a later version I am considering making the settings 'sticky' so all fields are remembered from one run to the next.
Because I often find it necessary to adapt the Search For String and Options until it finds & replaces just the right text.
This means remembering and re-entering very similar settings for run, after run, after run.
Does anyone else have this requirement?

I think that would be a very good idea Mike.
On my use of the test version I was just changing dates, and the option for the plugin to remember just having which options were ticked would have been great.

OK John, that is on the list.
Are there any other features you would like to see?

I would be obliged if you could give this new Plugin version a thorough test, on a copy of your data of course, although Edit > Undo Plugin Updates should reverse all changes.

I have given this Plugin a complete makeover.
All the option settings are 'sticky'.
All the searchable fields use the names of the FH fields.
The Search and Replace function has been merged with a Search Only function, making the Search and Return Result Set Plugin redundant.

Please try the release candidate from my SkyDrive Search and Replace Version 1.8

This will overwrite your current version that can be retrieved from the Plugin Store if necessary.

At present there is NO Help & Advice online for Version 1.8.
