As well as running FH v.7on laptop and a surface tablet (W10) I have iMac desktop running further copy FH v.7 via Parallels . Having various duplicates I thought I would explore "Duplicates..." Plugin and downloaded this on Thursday 10/8 at 14.00 .I opened the download ( on the iMac) to hopefully Read narrative as to how the plugin worked and receive guidance how to proceed , before proceeding. However the download unknowingly to me was attached to the last project file I had used ( a " Master / all names " of some. 20,000+ !!) and started "Running the search for duplicates " . ( I may have inadvertently /unknowingly pressed a button to start the search whilst trying to find the guidance notes ? ).
The iMac is STILL running today (!) Saturday 12/8 18.00 and despite efforts to close off the "Duplicates.... " search with the Halt etc buttons on the lower half of the Plugin screen , all I get is the "musical " bleep , and the screen continues to show the same original "Searching for Duplicates .." message.
At 82 I am not sure what I need to do now.
Can anyone help , please , and suggest what I should do ? Thank You .

Re: "Duplicates..." Plugin -on iMac
Derek, it sounds like you have never run any plugins before.
Like most customisations, plugins apply to all Projects on the same device (PC, iMac).
I guess you mean the 'Find Duplicate Individuals' plugin.
If you have a large Project, with many thousands of Individuals it can take a long time to run.
The dialogue provides an estimated run to check for Duplicates immediately under the Find button.
However, there should be a Stop Finding Duplicates button on the progress bar to halt progress.
If that is not visible then use the Task Manager to halt Family Historian as follows.
Since you are effectively running Windows, if you right-click the Start button or Task Bar you can select the Task Manager.
There select Family Historian and click the 'End task' button bottom right.
In the Plugin Store download page, there is a link to all the Help pages for the plugin.
Also, its initial dialogue has a Help & Advice button that opens the same pages.
BTW: Have you bought extra licences, because usually you can only install FH V7 on two devices?
