Hello all!
I'm trying to use the Ancestry Sync plugin. It appears I have most of it under control up to the point of changes made in Ancestry then accepted back into Roots Magic. From there I am stuck. How do I get those changes into FM? for instance I did the export, synced that to ancestry then added a new linked person in Ancestry then accepted that person back into RM but I dont know whats next. If I do the Compare/Update that just tells me to delete the new person from RM which I obviously dont want to do. I did not link to an Ancestry tree and it didnt sound Like I really need to..
Thanks for any help you can provide.
* next step in Ancestry Sync.

Re: next step in Ancestry Sync.
Welcome to FHUG, Henry.
The key point here is that the plugin is one way syncing only. It keeps your Ancestry data extract up to date, but FH is the master record, and all changes are made in FH. As you have found, TreeShare allows a limited two way synchronization, but by deliberate design there is no way to import changes back into FH.
It is not for this forum to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of competing apps, but let's just say that my own experience of TreeShare and comments made here by previous users make me completely confident that this is the correct design choice...
Unfortunately, there is no option for full two-way syncing. The plugin is designed for keeping a constant tree if you want to preserve your hint history, or you could simply transfer a GEDCOM copy of your data to Ancestry from time to time if you want a more complete tree complete with media, sources, notes, etc, and aren't bothered about resetting hints every time you update it.

OK, I didnt realize it was only one way sync. I understand but its still a bummer.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Henry
PS maybe the plugin should be named Sync TO Ancestry?

Re: next step in Ancestry Sync.
That's a fair comment Henry. The name has arisen for historic reasons so it would be confusing to users to change it now, but I have added a comment to the introduction in the plugin help file to make it clear that it is one-way sync only.
