Is there a 'Template Design with Preview' plugin?

I've been attempting to design my own templates.
I'm finding that envisioning the resulting citation output is an real issue.
One can't actually see a "trial" output without exporting the template to a project and entering some test data.
Making revisions, once one sees the result, is time-consuming.
It would be so handy to have a way of entering test data as part of the template design and having a preview of the result.
Has anyone made a plugin that does something similar?

That sounds like quite a neat idea.
It would be extremely difficult for a plugin because it would need to replicate the FH algorithm for synthesising the four Format template definitions. What would be needed is a plugin API function to perform that synthesis, similar to the functions that synthesise Narrative Sentences from Sentence Templates.
Your idea would also be a reasonable New Wish List Requests forum topic.

Thank you for your response, "tatewise".
I thought it might be a good feature request, but (being a newbie to FH7) I'm treading carefully.
Will go over to the appropriate section and ender it.
