Family Historian User Group

I have tried to run "Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings" v3.5 on my FH v7.0.18 database.

The plugin backs up 1311 files and then stops with a Lua error, as below:

I am given the option to "Continue", in which case the plugin just sits there doing nothing further, and the "Close Plugin" button is greyed out; or I can click "Exit", on which FH closes completely.

On the Options tab for the plugin, the only box whick is now ticked is "Allow Registry Restore Data".

I have tried to backup to a folder on the laptop C-drive and to a folder on the USB drive which IO use for data storage.

I seem to have a complete backup fro 9th December 2022.

Any ideas what has gone wrong?

Sorry about that Mick. It is an internal problem within Lua that crops up now and then.
I think I'll have to modify the plugin to use a workaround that I've used in other plugins.
Give me a day or two to investigate.

BTW: After clicking Continue, close the plugin dialogue window by clicking the X Close icon top right which aborts the plugin.

In the meantime try the 'Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings via Windows' alternative plugin.

I have revised the plugin to use the workaround used in other plugins. Sorry, it took longer than I expected.

Try the attached Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin Version 3.5.2 Date 24 Feb 2023.

Mick, can you please confirm whether the revised plugin attached last week fixes your problem?

The Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin Version 3.6 Date 15 Mar 2023 is in the Plugin Store.

I hope it fixes the Lua error, but despite the prototype attachment being downloaded 18 times over the last 3 weeks there has been no feedback!

The prototype attachment will be deleted soon.

It ran through successfully this morning for me. I'm using FH 7.0.19 running under Windows 11.
