Backup and Restore Plugin

Is it possible to sync the setting for FH7 to be the same on two different devices?
I customized on my main laptop and want to have the same setup on my mobile laptop. I use a network location for my data files that both computers can access. Only one computer can edit the data file at a time.
The situation is that when I installed FH7 on the mobile laptop and opened the existing data file, my customizations in the home screen area and fact types were not there.
Thank you.

The
Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings plugin will do what you need -- have you tried it yet?

There is advice related to this topic in the FHUG Knowledge Base under
Backup and Recovery and also within the
Family Historian Copy and Migration Guide.

I have not tried it yet - saw the warning and wanted to make sure I did things properly.
Does the folder structure need to mirror on both computers? (i.e., I run from and extended drive on the hard drive on the main and from an SD card on the mobile.)

The plugin Backup process creates a folder (usually called Family Historian) full of folders and files on the main source PC.
That folder can be anywhere on any accessible device and holds a backup copy of all customisations.
Use Windows File Explorer to copy that folder by any usual means to an accessible device on the mobile target PC.
Alternatively, the folder can be synchronised from PC to PC via cloud storage such as OneDrive.
The plugin Restore process reads the contents of that folder and updates the local customisations.
i.e. It is very similar to the FH Project data Backup and Restore process.
