Template- Scotland (Birth)

I have been away from FH7 for a little while and when I went back to it and tried to enter a source using a template I got the following message.
... Files (x86)\Family Historian\Program\Lua\fhutils.fh_lua

addFamilyAsSpouse - Pointer and Tag are required
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'error'
... Files (x86)\Family Historian\Program\Lua\fhutils.fh_lua

in function 'fhutils.addFamilyAsSpouse'

[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]:523: in local 'processChildFamily'
[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]:582: in function 'processBirth'
[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]

(...tail calls...)
[C]: in function 'iuplua.Popup'
[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]

in main chunk
I had entered all the information, clicked OK and got the above message. I am not sure what should have happened but it did not enter the father or mother to the tree or any other information for that matter. It did enter the information into the citation (Text From Source) tab but in a different layout from what was there before. It's layout looked like the certificate when I entered them before (Wide layout), but is now like the DEA layout one box above the other. I am not sure if this is the way it is now supposed to be or if it caused by the error above. Can anyone help with this problem?

William,
I ned a bit more information -- my crystal ball is waiting for parts to repair it...
1: I'm assuming you're using the Record Birth (UK) DEA? Although you haven't raised this in the plugin area so can you confirm (including the version number of the DEA.)
2: Confirm you're running FH 7.0.9 (the latest version)
2: Please post complete screenshots of (i) your Prepared Source/Citation; (ii) the data you'd entered before the error occurred.

Helen
I know an old gypsy woman who does online crystal ball repairs if that is of any good to you
1 No (see below)
2 Yes
I have to appologise I clicked on the wrong DEA I picked Record Birth (Any) but the issue will still be there when I enter my wife's information for her birth as she is born in Oz.

I just started a new project to make sure it was nothing to do with my project and this time it added the father and some other information, but still nothing for the mother. Hope this helps

William, I haven't updated the Record Birth Data (Any) DEA since I released the beta version and there were some changes in FH in the last release that might have broken it...
However, you're saying now it wasn't the DEA you intended to use. Does the Record Birth Data (UK) work -- I'm unclear from what you're saying?

Helen, (UK) DEA working fine, it was the (ANY) DEA that isn't working. I accidently picked the (ANY) and thought I had used the (UK) one, hence the initial confusion (My fault). My problem as I mentioned is that when I go to add my wife there will be a problem as she is born in Oz, but at least I know there is a problem at the moment and can watch for it.

William, you should be able to specify a birthplace in Oz without any problem; you just can't use the UK DEA to record an Australian Census.

Hi Helen
The problem is that the (ANY) DEA doesn't add the mother to the focus screen when it enters the information and fires up this error message
... Files (x86)\Family Historian\Program\Lua\fhutils.fh_lua

addFamilyAsSpouse - Pointer and Tag are required
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'error'
... Files (x86)\Family Historian\Program\Lua\fhutils.fh_lua

[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]:582: in function 'processBirth'
[string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Pl..."]

There isn't a problem entering the data or location to the birth source it is just that there is an error thrown up and it doeasn't enter the Mother and the first time when I did it by accident it didn't add the father or mother.

Is there a reason you're not reverting to the (UK) version?

Kind of don't understand what you are asking. I said that I had accidently clicked (ANY), so there wasn't an issue with (UK), but I also said that the issue that I reported with the error when inputing using (ANY) would be an issue when I added my wife to the tree as she was born in Australia and the (UK) one wouldn't work.

OK -- you said you clicked the (ANY) version by mistake, rather than because you needed to enter an Australian birth. I'll have a look at that plugin later this week and fix it.

I've uploaded a revised version at
Some new Data Entry Assistant plugins for testing (V7) (18293) -- please let me know if it works for you.

Hi Helen,
Is the updated DEA in the first post in the (18283) Topic? If yes, then no it doesn't seem to work for me. I entered my wife's birth and it didn't enter her mother in the Focus window, it does enter her details in the Records window but not in the Focus window. It also shows her father in the Facts tab as being Marriage to <No Spouse> and it also added two of the same citation to her mothers name. Hope what I have written makes sense.

William,
If somebody appears in the records window, they will also be in the Focus window -- the the two windows are different views of the same date. Can you post the inevitable screenshots to show what you mean, please. Also, a screenshot of the plugin results.

Not sure if this helps, but just because the mother's record appears in the Records Window does not ensure it appears in the Focus Window as a parent, unless it is also linked via the Family record.

That may be what William is seeing, but screenshots will make it clearer.

And finally this is the screen showing the two citations added by the DEA to the mothers name

Now this is the information that is available on a Birth Certificate from Australia from 1962, I have just changed the name and some information.

The fact that the DEA failed with an error is almost certainly the reason for the problem.
Especially as the error message is: "addFamilyAsSpouse - Pointer and Tag are required" and the problem is that the mother is not the spouse of the father, so it all fits.

Mike, I know that. I needed to see the Results window because William unfortunately hasn't expanded the latest error message screen to show line numbers. I suspect this is a different error from the first one.
William, can you confirm the version number and date of the DEA please?
