Re: Plugins planned/in progress
Jackie - it’s the other way around. The fhSQL library (which is the wrapper for the ODBC driver) is used by FH to read and write to databases used by other apps. For example, RM7 and RM8 are both based on SQLite, so FH can read (and write to with some limitations) RM files directly. It’s what I use for the FH sync to Ancestry via RM plugin.

OK, Thanks. I new SQL Lite worked with RM as I've played with that. Good luck on your plugin.
Thanks,
Jackie

New plugin under development: Fact Factory
Akin to Ancestral Sources, but in Lua and with a different approach.

Re: Plugins planned/in progress
I am not quite sure whether this thread is still active.
However, spurred by Chris Read's recent contribution, I have been looking over the plugins I have developed to see if they would be interest in adding these to the store.
The first three I have thought maybe worthwhile offering were adding a Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and Death Certificate.
In all 3 cases, they are a single screen entry plugins, that use the Civil Registration Certificate template. They are stable in my environment, and I have been using them for about a year now. I am in the process of tidying these up to be more user friendly if I added them to the store.
I would welcome suggestions as to whether these are worth adding or if there alternatives already in the store.

There are overlapping DEAs but that's no reason not to publish alternatives.Normie wrote: ↑08 Apr 2024 09:15 The first three I have thought maybe worthwhile offering were adding a Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and Death Certificate.

The GRO seems to have a number of variations, so I was adding to the pile (although hadn't originally planned it to be released). It's all about adding a new or useful feature that may tempt people to use it (or at least try it out) over an existing similar plugin.

I would like to take a look at them as an alternative to AS and DEA's on a Mac.Normie wrote: ↑08 Apr 2024 09:15 I am not quite sure whether this thread is still active.

Re: Plugins planned/in progress
I now routinely test my published plugins in Linux/WINE. In my experience, compatibility issues are most likely to arise when manipulating files such as Media or property files (Fact Sets, etc). That’s not surprising, as there are some fundamental differences between Windows and Unix-derived file properties that WINE cannot reconcile, but so far I’ve always found a workaround.
