Check Installed Plugins Against the Store

I am still using FH 6.2.7.
I just ran Check Installed Plugins Against the Store and it found a new version of Ancestral Sources Data Entry. I said to go ahead and update the plugin and I got the following error and the plugin ended.

This will have to wait until Jane sees it -- I know she has a new version in progress.

I checked the new store and the version there is 2.9 which is marked as being compatible with FH6. That is the same version I have installed so I thought I had the latest.
I will wait till Jane has a chance to respond.

The problem may be that the Plugin Store is new and needed new PHP functions to access the Plugin files which may not have been checked against all the Plugins.

I was trying to make sure my FH6 plugins were up to date, but I probably need to wait for awhile till things settle down a bit.

Family Historian has updated to a new server and plugin store and the interface is different. Please go to the new plugin store and download 3.0 of the checking plugin.

Thank you for posting about this plug in. I have been working down my plug ins one by one.
However, will now leave it a week or two as I got the same warning with Mike's Quick Family Facts.

Evelyn,
Did you manually download and install the new version of the Check Installed Plugins Against the Store plugin version 3 that Jane mentioned? With that installed you shouldn't get the error. I have Quick Family Facts installed and didn't get any errors when running the Check Installed Plugins Against the Store plugin.

Bill, that is because I have not updated the Plugin Store with the FH v7 compatible version of Quick Family Facts.
So you both have the latest version which runs OK with FH v6 for Bill but NOT with FH v7 for Evelyn.
Before trying to run a plugin check the Plugin Store to see what FH version it supports.

I've just updated to FH7 and have downloaded the updated version of this plugin from the store. But when I run the plugin I get the below error message. I seem to remember a bit ago there were similar problems but cannot remember what the solution was. This also happens with other Plugins that access the internet for one reason or another.

It may happen when the Plugin Store service is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance updates, etc.
Wait a while and try again later. It was Ok when I tried just now.

I ran Check Installed Plugins Against the Store and it said there was a new version of List All Citations for a Selected Source. I said to go ahead and upgrade it. The results showed that this plugin was upgraded.
I immediately ran Check Installed Plugins Against the Store again and it again said there was a new version of List All Citations for a Selected Source. I said to go ahead and upgrade it. The results showed that this plugin was upgraded.
Seems to be something about that plugin that makes Check Installed Plugins Against the Store think it needs to be upgraded every time it runs.

I think that is because the List All Citations plug in is listed as version 1.6 but the version number inside the plug in still reads 1.5

Re the error message I posted, as suggested I tried it a few more times last night and again this morning and I'm still get the message whenever I try to run the "Check Installed Plugins Against the Store".
Apparently I'm a Dinosaur as I'm still using Windows 7 would this have anything to do with it?

Can you try now -- should be fixed.

Rick, if that COM error occurs all the time for all Plugins that need Internet access then it may well be a glitch in the Lua library for Windows 7, so I suggest you report the problem directly to Calico Pie:
http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php
Include the screenshot of the error message.

I'm still getting the same results. According to Tools > Plugins I have version 1.5 Last Updated 30 Nov 2020 installed.
Bill
Edit: My mistake. I ran the plugin and it said there was an update to List All Citations for a Selected Source. I upgraded it and then ran the plugin again and it didn't flag it as needing to be upgraded. I now have version 1.6 Last Updated 30 Nov 2020 installed. Thanks!

As has been said many times, Plugin authors are working as fast as they can to update plugins, day jobs and the need to sleep permitting.
Be patient.

The Plugin Store versions are being attacked first, but personal custom plugins that you have written or downloaded from the FHUG Forum will have to wait until later, probably in the new year.
