I may need help expressing this. but lets take a stylized tree diagram and orient it like a tree:
............................................. < tree tops (each dot an INDI)
..........................................
.....................................
<and so on>
. < root as MY lowest descedant to start.
now create that for her brothers and sisters.
in the case where mother and father are same, trees are identical simply a different root
now lets go to my brother and down to his lowest ancestor as root to start.
if I find every INDI without a FAMC in my file, that is a treetop for me.
if I find every INDI with no FAMS (to me) they are a root record.
I have a table of treetops
I have a table of roots
if roots are (SIBS and no ancestors for SPOU or SPOU:IsNull ) then
prune until youngest SIB (I am ok with the last CHIL record in parents FAMS)
I should have unique roots including mult FAMS roots) for HUSB and/or WIFE
and have left over lowest number of root cases in my file
what flaws exist?
