Hi,
I am going to ask a question which has probably already dealt with already but as I am getting older I need to ask it.
I have been researching my family name now since 1883. I used to visit London when I could to make a complete list of my family name from the G.R.O. indexes.
I eventually transferred that information into Excel. My question is:- Can I transfer this data into Family Historian without actually adding these names to my family. I just don't like to use additional programs to store this information. It would be so much easier to go down the list and when I identify a person from my family I could just add the name to my family. Is there a plugin that I can use to import a comma separated database or such like or am I just wishful thing?
Thanks for your patience everybody!
Ed

Re: Importing a database?
Hi Ed, you asked the same question in Importing lists from xls (11174) in 2014.
Check back to that thread for the advice given then (click on the orange link above).
You can add unrelated people to FH just by entering their name and details without linking them to your family.
Just use the Add > Unrelated Individual command.
There are various tools for adding data from Excel .CSV data, but without knowing exactly what columns you have in your database it is difficult to advise in any detail. Tell us what columns you have, e.g Name, Birth Quarter, Marriage Quarter, Death Quarter and what format each column uses.
