Lookup Missing Census Facts for 1939 Register

Please find in ATTACHMENTS a revised Lookup Missing Census Facts Plugin Version 3.8.1 Dated 17 Nov 2015.
[ EDIT: This Plugin is now in the Plugin Store at V3.9 ]
Click the link to install into FH and overwrite the existing Plugin version.
However, if necessary you can easily revert to the Plugin Store version.
Sorry, it has taken longer to update than expected, because during testing I discovered that under certain rare conditions the wrong Father, Mother, or Spouse details were being added as other members of the household. It happened when a relative had died prior to the Census date but was still added, or in multiple family partnerships the wrong Spouse name, Spouse Family at Census, or Family Date was sometimes used.
Let me know if you discover any problems.
When checking the 1939 Register Search on FMP, I found that sometimes using Edit search and adjusting the Birth Year Give or take or removing Other household members or changing any Name variants tick options would improve the chances of a match, and this probably applies to Census year searches too.

Mike, Excellent plug-in (v3.9) which quickly returned a lot of useful census data, thanks
Do you know why when using it some of the hyperlinks to FMP that show a 'record' acctually show nothing on FMP itself when clicked on?

The hyperlinks in the
Lookup Web Page simply submit a search with an educated guess of the appropriate search terms, such as full name, birth year & range, and household members.
But youngsters may not be at home with parents, or spouses may not be with each other.
So as it says in the
Help & Advice for the
Lookup Web Page:
When using online searches it may be necessary to edit details such as the Birth Year or household members to improve the chances of a match.
But if you actually get a 'record' hit on FMP then it should display that record providing you are logged in to an account that subscribes to that type of record. Can you give a specific example?

I based my Census search on this individual:

- FH snip.JPG (93.98 KiB) Viewed 6859 times
And a snip from the plugin return where line 3 has a null return in FMP:

- FH Plugin snip.JPG (74.77 KiB) Viewed 6859 times
Everything in line 3 is correct except for the hyperlink to FMY which returns no record.
Hope this gives you the information you need.

Ah yes, those are only local/private census collections for those specific localities (
Dartford, Kent and
Nether Hallam, Sheffield) rather than a full national census. So most people will not be included.
Check the FMP decriptive details for those small census collections.
e.g.
1801 Kent, Dartford census
The record set comprises over 2,580 records from 20 districts in Dartford, Kent.

Searching that subset yields no results?

Did you see my previous reply?
0 results means George Bellamy was not in Dartford, Kent in 1801.
Hardly surprising as he was born and died in Chagford, Devon.
Scroll down and it explains how few records (2,580) are in that census collection.

Mike I think we are 'talking' at cross purposes!
Why does the plugin show references where there are no matches, line 3 for example?
Does it just report all subsets examined.
Or am I missing something?

I fear we are. You misunderstand how the Plugin operates. Have you read the Plugin Help & Advice?
The Plugin identifies Individuals with potentially missing Census Events and presents a web page to allow you to initiate online searches. The Plugin is not capable of performing the searches itself because there are too many imponderables. So you must initiate and edit the search criteria as necessary, and make rational decisions about whether any matching records are valid. In other words it automates the process of identifying the dates when census events are missing from a persons lifetime, and composes a reasonable set of search criteria based on their database entry and what is recorded in the Census. For example some census records do not identify household members or do not include children, so the Plugin takes that into account.
