I am cleaning up my data following on from a TMG import.
I have a Custom Individual Event Fact called "Note" that I want to change to a Custom Individual Attribute called "News Article".
I have written a query and can see the data in the Note Fact, its the second Note for the person so the data is in the field %INDI.EVEN-NOTE[2].NOTE2[1]%
I have run the plug-in with the source tag set as Custom and the Source Tag Name as "Note".
The Target Tag Set is Custom and the Target Tag Name is "News Article".
There are no filters applied at this time
When I run the Plug-in by clicking the "Note to News Article" button I get zero skipped, deleted, changed and warnings.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Change any fact tag plugin
Sorry about that.
There appears to be a conflict between Individual Record local Note (INDI.NOTE2) and the Custom Note Fact (INDI.EVEN-NOTE) when defined as a Custom Fact named Note.
(There is a different conflict with Note Records (NOTE) if the Custom Fact is named NOTE.
I will have to investigate those conflicts to see if they can be fixed, but there is a workaround.
Use Tools > Fact Types and Delete the Custom Fact named Note.
(You can reinstate it later if necessary).
Then run the Plugin and choose Source Tag Set: <Custom Facts> and Source Tag Name: EVEN-NOTE with the Target settings as before for News Article.
That should work OK.

This topic might help you regarding the desirability of custom attributes or facts
Standard v Custom GEDCOM (11361)
however, if you have come from TMG, using Standard GEDCOM might not worry you too much.

Re: Change any fact tag plugin
@Mike, Thanks that worked. I did have a little trouble getting the correct Fact in the end, (I only wanted to change one of the 100's of notes I have). I used the date filter and it took a while to figure out what Date format was required. It might be worth making a small change to the "Help" showing what the date format should be including the fact that the first letter of the month needs to be Capitalized.

Re: Change any fact tag plugin
I have today updated the Plugin to V2.5 in the Plugin Store.
It now copes with Custom Fact names that are the same as Standard Facts or Defined Tags. The problem has always existed, but nobody had bumped into it until now!
It also now accepts Date filters in either Long or Compact format. The latter being the format displayed most often in FH by default. The Help page for Filters has also been updated to make things clearer, I hope!
