Show Project Statistics 1.9 error

Post by BillH » 24 Jan 2015 01:04

Mike,

I just tried to run Show Project Statistics 1.9 dated 10 Dec 2014. When I clicked on Update Statistics, I got the following error:

image1.jpg (53.76 KiB) Viewed 5274 times
After closing this window the main plugin window was all grayed out and none of the buttons worked. I was able to close it by clicking on the x in the title bar.

Is there a problem with the plugin or with my data?

Thanks,
Bill

I get similar errors with Update Statistics on version 1.8 even on the Sample Project.

Peter, the V1.8 errors are probably different, and are due to you running FH V6.0, which is NOT supported by Plugin V1.8.

Bill, when that sort of error arises the only way out will be via X Close.

Try using Restore Defaults and if that does not fix it, then in the ...\<projectname>.fh_data\Plugin Data\ folder delete the Show Project Statistics.grid file.

Mike,

Resetting the options did not help, but deleting the grid file eliminated the problem.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, I have been investigating the above problem a bit further.
Originally you said:

Is that the first time you have run that Plugin Store version on that Project since running the Beta testing V1.9 dated 26 Oct 2014?

If so, then that explains the error message. The Plugin knows when to update its statistics grid file by comparing Plugin version against grid file version. In the above scenario they would both be V1.9 so no update would get applied, but the grid format had changed between 26 Oct 2014 and 10 Dec 2014 and that caused the error.

I shall revise the version numbering of this Plugin in future to avoid that problem.

Mike,

While I can't say for sure, I think I ran it when I downloaded it shortly after you put it in the store in December.

Thanks,
Bill
