Show Project Statistics - Unusual entry

Hi I have an unusual entry and I'm unsure what it means. In a persons Individual Facts I have an entry stating adoption with the year and a note that she was adopted by her (birth) uncle's family. I have her linked to both her birth mother and adopted parents.

The plug in is showing her record as an exception with the statement: "Event has link to parent's family via the All Tab"

Does anyone know how to stop this being an exception and what I may have done.

Many thanks

Hi Susan.

Yes, I can explain that, and how to fix it, or mask the exception report, whichever you prefer.

There is a very brief explanation in the Help & Advice > Result Set page:
"Event has Link to Parents Family via All tab due to rare Birth/Christening/Adoption Event link to Parents Family."

Birth/Christening/Adoption Events support a rarely used link to the Parents family quite separate from the Individual Record level link to any Parents family.

I suspect your Individual Record has two Parents family links; one to the birth Mother and one to the Adoptive Parents.
These links can be followed by using the Up blue arrow that asks which family to go up to.

In the All tab of the Property Box those two Parents family links are shown after the Facts and before the Spouse family and Multimedia Object links.

Now expand the Adoption Event nearer the top of the All tab by clicking its [+] icon and you will see another Parents family link.
This might be to the Mother, or the Adoptive Parents, or some other family.
If you were unaware of it, and don't need it, then highlight it, click the Delete key on your keyboard and OK the warning.

If you want to retain it, and hide the Exception Report, then run the Plugin, and on its Options tab untick Event has Link to Parents Family via All tab.
This option can be changed at any time to reveal/hide the Exception Report without even needing to update the statistics.

Many thanks for taking a while to reply Mike but this has sorted it out perfectly. I was indeed unaware of the extra link.
