Clean Living People plugin error

Post by Valjean » 08 Sep 2014 20:20

Hi,

When I try and run the clean living people plugin I get the attached error message. Any ideas please?

Family Historian 5.0.9.
Plugin 1.2.3

Running on dropbox (but shouldn't be an issue?)

Thanks.

I suspect you have chosen the Living Names option to Convert Whole Names to Initials.

The problem is that somewhere in your data there is an Individual with no Surname.
Usually when there is no Surname the Name field ends with two slashes // but this error occurs when there are no slashes at all.

It is actually very difficult to get that effect, and still retain a Name field, so unless there is some other cause, I suspect some manual editing of names has happened.

In the Records Window, on the Individuals tab, click the Individual Records column heading.
All [unnamed person] records should be listed first.
It is one of these that has a Name field with no slashes // and is the culprit.

If my guess work is wrong then further investigation is needed.
