AS plugin download (32 bit.)

Hello,
I have just purchased and installed Family Historian 5 on my computer.
I have updated it and would now like to download AS.

Do you know if the download plug-in for AS available from the plug-in store (accessed from within FH - Tools - plug-in) is 32 bit of 64 bit please? It's the former that I require.

I have also seen the two versions listed directly for download, but if the download does not occur from within FH, I am unsure how to marry up the two programs.

I am running XP professional, and am to my shame, not at all computer literate, so apologies in advance.

Regards,
Liz.

Hi Liz

I'll give you the short answer - but if you're still not sure please just ask again.

Ancestral Sources is a separate program to Family Historian. However, it works well with Family Historian - you just have to make sure that the project you use in FH is the same project that you use in AS (but until you get your head around AS use the Family Historian sample project to play with).

A user of Ancestral Sources and Family Historian (Mike Tate) created a plugin which allows AS to be opened from within Family Historian - you don't have to use the plugin to use AS, but many users do. The plugin will work with either the 32 or 64 bit version of Ancestral Sources. I'd recommend installing and running AS first (at least once) before using the plugin.

Nick

Thank you so much for your help. I've managed to download Ancestral Sources, and also open the plugin from within Family History. (Thank you for the tutorial Jane.)

I shall have a practice for the next few days to see how I get on.
Many thanks. :)
Regards,
Liz.
