Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings
Having successfully loaded Family Historian in Windows 8.0 (still waiting for 8.1 to download!) I downloaded and installed the Backup and Restore Plugin to recover my original settings, which I save when I was running FH in Win XP. Unfortunately the plugin returns the following message and then stops. I suspect this is another Registry issue but would welcome any advice as to how I can work around it.

Re: Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings
Yes Gerry, I am aware of that problem, and there is a fix in the pipeline.
It happens because the installed FH Version is earlier than V5.0.8 and I've put the Plugin check for that in the wrong place!
I suspect you have only installed your purchased licensed V5 copy and not the latest free upgrade V5.0.9.
If you had the latest FH V5.0.9 installed on your Windows XP PC when the Backup was created, then even if the Plugin did run, the settings would not Restore on the Windows 8.0 PC unless it also has FH V5.0.9 installed.

Re: Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings
You are perfectly correct, Mike. I have now updated to 5.0.9 and the plugin worked properly.tatewise wrote:Yes Gerry, I am aware of that problem, and there is a fix in the pipeline.
