I did get odd thing happen when I last ran it a couple of days ago.
I had mis-dated a baptism (I am using method 1), so did a search and replace.
Search for "7 February 1964" Replace with "7 February 1864" with confirm edits ticked.
I got the expected number of "Hits" , however I got an Invalid date warning for a change to the source record, (Sorry forget which part of source and forgot to do a screen grab) so change was recorded as "Period 7 February 1864" as text.
I went into the data after and manually corrected it to the correct date with no problem.

Re: Search and Replace Problem
One enhancement that will become available in next version is to select which type of Date field to search, i.e. Fact Dates, Citation Entry Dates, Multimedia Dates, or LDS Ordination Dates, as well as All Date fields.
So for a Baptism Date you would choose Fact Dates and thus other Dates will be excluded.
Regarding the Invalid date, which from your description must have been a Sources pane Citation Entry Date, my only explanation is that it originally held the Date Phrase text "Period 7 February 1964".
Is it possible that you can check a past/backup copy of your GEDCOM data to see if that is the case?

Re: Search and Replace Problem
I don't use date phrases at all Mike,
The entry was entirely produced by AS. Only the Birth date was recorded as Bef 7 February 1964", but that was converted correctly.

Re: Search and Replace Problem
You are confusing me - you originally said it was a Baptism entry and now you mention a Birth date.
Do I assume the Baptism Event was created by AS and it also created a Birth event.
However, that does NOT mean the Citation Entry Date was created by AS.
That Citation entry may be associated with a completely different Fact.
Do you have the AS Tools > Options > Baptism Settings > Use Citation Entry Date option ticked?
You say you "manually corrected it to the correct date".
Can you remember what that correct date was, and if so, can you use the Plugin to Search for it?
That will confirm which Fact the Citation belongs to.
As I requested, if you have a backup of the GEDCOM with the original date entries it would help diagnose the issue.

Re: Search and Replace Problem
Sorry Mike, I don't have a backup that contains the incorrect date. I will try and replicate the problem over the next few days, and do a screen grab for you.
