coloured fact boxes

Post by johncommins » 31 Oct 2013 09:56

would it be possible to have a coloured background that could be placed into the facts box, so that you know that you have all the details on that person recorded ie that you have details on birth and details of death, so therefore no more details will be found and you can then look at the next person, to save looking to make sure that all the facts have been recorded

You can't control the colours like that on the property box, but you could use a query or plugin to set a flag when you have all the "key" facts for a person. Then add that flag to the main page.

John, can you please set your Family Historian Version so we can advise you appropriately.
Use the Profile link in the General Usage topic on the main Forums page.

You could customise the Main tab (or a Key Facts tab) to only show what you consider to be the important Facts that suggest no further research is needed.

For each Key Fact the details shown can include the Date, Place, etc, and even Citation(s).
So at a glance it will be obvious that all the important data has been recorded, because there will be no blank boxes.

No Query, Plugin, or Flag required.

Rather than changing the colour of a box, you can add a coloured shadow. I do this on my diagrams to show people who are directly related to me..
A multi expression could be used to show that a source exists for birth baptism death and burial.

I think John Commins is talking about the Facts tab of the Property Box, rather than Diagram Boxes.
Perhaps this could be confirmed by John.

Thanks for the contributions, I have now had a fact ALL RECORDS FOUND and this seems to do.
but I need for it to be the last fact in the box I have tried to add date 2013 but this only kicks in the reminder

In Work With Fact Sets, change the event time span to Post Death.

Also you can customise the Main tab to include that ALL RECORDS FOUND Fact, so you don't even need to visit the Facts tab to check its presence.
