Gedcom imported from Legacy

When I opened my Gedcom, which was exported from Legacy, into Family Historian, I discovered that all the Individual Notes were Note Records instead of the Local Notes they should have been. Also the Family (Marriage) Notes don't appear in the Notes tab of the Property Dialog for families. The notes did import and can be seen when I expand the Marriage link in the Record window. How can I convert the Note Records to local notes and how can I make the Marriage notes appear in the Property dialog note window without having to manually go through every item to fix the problem? I would be grateful for any help. I've got FH on trial and only have 13 days left before I have to make a decision to buy. I'd like to solve this problem as it's going to occur every time I open a different Gedcom.

This is actually a problem with the Legacy export, not FH, it might be worth checking Legacy to see if it has any settings to export notes as local notes rather than record notes.

I suspect the same problem might be why the family notes are not showing, check to see where the notes are attached, remember you can have notes attached to marriages as well as notes attached to families.

Thank you. Yes, I guessed the problem was with Legacy, but I can't fix it. I have another problem now in that all my imported Multimedia are not showing on the Multimedia record tab as none of them have a Link/Note. When I try to use the New Link/Note button in the Multimedia linked to Individual Record dialog, it just inserts the text Link/Note in the Links and Notes area instead of bringing up the dialog to allow me to choose the Individual to link to.

It sounds as if Legacy has attached local multimedia rather than record based media, you should still be able to access the images via the people they are attached to.

It might be possible to write a small program to convert the notes to local, but it will probably take a couple of days to do and I don't think I have time to do so at the moment.

Jane, I think you're right, that's exactly what it's done. And, yes, I can access the images - just no Multimedia records for them. It was a very kind thought to consider writing a program to fix it, but please, I don't expect you do do that. I'll just put up with the way things are for now and when I have time, I'll go through all the images and reinsert them properly. Thank you for your comments.
