Any one can help with this? I am looking at exporting my branch from the tree file. How does one go about doing this? I would like to seperate the branch from my wife. Thanks

The File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File... command has a dialogue with a Select... button to choose who to include.

See FHUG KB Exporting a Family Tree with/without Media for details.

Alternatively, create a Copy Project and use the File > Split Tree Helper in a similar way, and then the File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File... command can Select... everyone.

As a matter of interest, where are you sending the GEDCOM file?
The Export Gedcom File plugin creates GEDCOM tailored for various popular destinations.

Thanks will give this a try. I am exporting just as a gedcom 5. One point if I use select I would need to include everyone I wanted? This could be up to 1k names to manually enter? Thanks again

In the File > Import/Export process you will be shown a list of all individuals. You can add them one at a time from the left pane to the right pane. Or you can click on the button on the bottom called Add using Query... and then select a query to include the individuals you want. If you for instance you want to include all of your relatives you can use the standard All Relatives query. If you want to include a more complicated group of individuals, you could identify them using a query you write yourself which lists them all.

You can also Select... from a Named List that can be filled beforehand.
For example, see FHUG KB Create an export GEDCOM based on a diagram.

What do you mean by "gedcom 5"?
Where is that going to be used?

BTW: I notice from an earlier posting that you are using FH V7 but your Profile on right says FH V6.
Please update that by clicking your username, navigate to Edit Profile, choose FH version, then scroll down to SUBMIT.
