Welcome to the FHUG Andrew.

Where does the 2017 GEDCOM come from? In these forums the more clues you can give us the quicker you'll get an answer.

Is it from another product, in which case Jane's advice is the best port of call.

Or is it an old Family Historian GEDCOM? Is it part of an FH V6 Project? Is it in an FH Project Backup ZIP file?

Thanks to all so far! It was from FH Ver 4! :-)
Not zipped.
It just reports 'Native Gedcom - Limited functionality' in FH...

OK, so you were using FH V4, but did this GEDCOM exist as part of an FH V4 Project or just a free-standing GEDCOM?
i.e. Was it listed in the File > Project Window?

Are there any Media files associated with this GEDCOM?
i.e. Did you attach any photos or document images to the records in FH V4?

I presume you have just installed FH V7 over your existing FH V4 program.
Or have you switched PC since using FH V4 and have simply copied the GEDCOM from that earlier PC.

If you just open the GEDCOM file then it will have limited features as a free-standing GEDCOM and not a Project.

Anyway, the method of creating a Project form a GEDCOM is as follows.
Use File > Project Window... then click New Project... and select Import a GEDCOM file.
Click Next > and complete the dialogues.

Did your old GEDCOM have Media? Did the above process find those Media files?

Hi Mike,
All sorted now thank you!
Solution: Started up New Project, and then, in the Project Window: Imported the Gedcom from One Drive = Success! (including restoring 79 of the 83 'broken' media links!)
Thanks again :D
Best wishes,
Andrew Greenslade.
