Import Notes from Legacy
I have another question for the forum experts regarding importing from Legacy.
I have entered notes in various places within Legacy but when the gedcom is imported into FH they do not appear all in the same place.
Legacy has a General/Research/Medical note feature and these appear to import OK showing up in the Notes tab of the Individuals property box however not so with some of the other notes entered into Legacy.
The notes entered against a birth/baptism/death/burial do make it into FH but they are only visible on the "All Facts" tab shown as a "Note Record" under the appropriate event. They are not visible unless you look deeper for them expanding all the crosses.
It would obviously be nice to have all the notes together and visible in the Notes tab but I don't know how to achieve that. I have looked at the "Change Any Fact Tag" plugin and selected a source as Defined Tag/Note Record and a target as Defined Tag/Note but it doesn't move them, although it appears to move other notes I wasn't expecting.
Am I looking in the wrong place. Is there a better way of handling these tags?
Regards
Robin

Re: Import Notes from Legacy
Do you mean they appear in the Note field for each fact on the Facts tab? If so, you can make these visible on the Notes tab by clicking the Show Fact Notes icon in the Notes tab:The notes entered against a birth/baptism/death/burial do make it into FH but they are only visible on the "All Facts" tab shown as a "Note Record" under the appropriate event.

Re: Import Notes from Legacy
I think Robin is talking about linked Note records on Facts only being visible via the All tab (not All Facts tab).
See how_to:import_from_legacy|> Import from Legacy Family Tree (LFT) under how_to:import_from_legacy#once_the_project_is_in_family_historian|> Once the Project is in Family Historian where it explains exactly that scenario and how to fix it:
In Forum thread Importing Marriages from Legacy it was reported that Note Records were used instead of local Notes on some Facts, and can be fixed using the Clean Up Notes Plugin.

Sadly clicking that "Show Fact Notes" icon has no effect. These imported notes are only visible as a "Note Record" in the "All" tab.

Yes, I know Robin, you have ignored my explanation and solution.
When you discover a problem, please get into the habit of first revisiting the how_to:import_from_legacy|> Import from Legacy Family Tree (LFT) guide, where solutions are often found.

Thank you Mike for your reply, I didn't ignore it as I didn't see it. I was replying to Lorna's message but was taking a little time trying to figure out how to attach /include an image in a message. I think you posted your message while I was still (slowly) writing mine.
I did see the section you mention but it was in relation to marriages and I had identified my issue as notes attached to birth/baptism/death and burial within Legacy. If this is the answer to my problem then happy days.
I will look at this plugin.

Re: Import Notes from Legacy
A follow up on my use of the "Clean Up Notes" plugin.
It worked perfectly so my thanks to the author Jane and to Mike for making me aware of it.
