New User wants to move info from ancestry.com to fh
I just got FH and would like to move my info from ancestry.com to FH. I have no experience with this or any program of this nature

This is the obvious starting point
how_to:import_from_ancestry|> Import from Ancestry website
If you use FTM with Ancestry that would be a different, probably better, course of action.
And then:
home|> Knowledge Base Home
and don't forget there is a good search engine of both wiki and forum, see how here:

Welcome to the FHUG.
Yes, as Jim says, FTM is a better option, otherwise you will have to transfer all the linked Media documents & photos one by one by hand.
You would also be well advised to wait until FH V6.1 is released, which should happen in the next month or so, because it imports the GEDCOM more effectively, and I think will have an updated "Getting the Most From Family Historian 6".
As a newcomer, take a look at how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers especially the FH Book: "Getting the Most From Family Historian 5" with many tutorials, and spend some time becoming acquainted with FH and AS.

I agree with Mike - wait for v6.1, this is what I have decided to do, but I would add that you can download a beta version of v6.1 now and, having downloaded a GEDCOM of your database from Ancestry, you could then have a play around and get the feel for this and for the companion program Ancestral Sources.
