I am also in the process of migrating from TMG to FH. I have done a trial import to play around with the data, as I have quite a lot of tweaks in my file.
This FHUG is excellent, and I am learning a lot from searching the forum, the Knowledge Base, and the Youtube videos, so thanks to all those who add information.
I am sure I will have more questions over time, but the first big one for me is that I have used NAME STYLES in TMG, and have 2 different styles used extensively, but the components don't seem to have come over to FH. The components of a Name Style are:
Title
Prefix
GivenName
PreSurname
Surname
Suffix
OtherName
SortSurnam
SortGiven
Is there any trick to ensuring that all components of the name come across into FH? When I go to 'more' for Name: in FH none of those have come across.
Thanks!
Chris

Re: TMG to FH Name Styles
Chris, I have started a new thread, because the details are quite different.
I am not familiar with TMG Name Styles, but instead of looking in Name: more... try opening the All tab, and expand all Name items by clicking [+] icon, that might reveal more details.

Re: TMG to FH Name Styles
Thanks Mike - yes, I had already tried looking there but, unfortunately, the information has not come across.
It is a pretty big issue for me, as I have about 400 names using a particular style.
I will try some manipulation on the TMG side to see if I can solve it that way, and will report back with the results.

Re: TMG to FH Name Styles
If all else fails, and it is possible for TMG to produce a textual list of your Name Style fields per Individual, then a Plugin could probably be written to migrate those fields into similar Gedcom fields within FH.
