After it was known that TMG was going out of production, I stopped inventing numerous custom Tags and instead entered any event that was not otherwise classified as Event-Misc - a tag offered as Standard on TMG.
I wrongly believed this Event-misc was a dated GEDCOM event Tag that would transfer easily to any future software.
This Event or fact is coming into FH (direct import without GEDCOM) but I am unable to open the screen on which I might edit the default sentence. FH is rejecting the event character - presumably the hyphen.
Should I go back into TMG and try to remove the hyphen?
I have used this Event-Misc many many times, particularly in the last 2 months to enter, date and source many local newspaper references to members of my family and 19th century newspaper advertisements advertising their wares.
I dont know if other TMG users have the same problem or ever used this Event-Misc TAG/Event?

Re: TMG to FH Event-misc character problem
You can workaround the problem by simply leaving out the hyphen in the Fact Type definition.
i.e. Create the New... Fact Definition with the Fact Name: EventMisc and later you can set the Label: to Event-Misc if you wish.
If you need to, you can selectively change any of those Facts from Event-Misc to whatever you prefer to make them more meaningful by using the Change Any Fact Tag Plugin.
