Ancestry FTM Cost

Post by davidm_uk » 22 Apr 2015 11:06

In Ancestry, FTM, FH and workflow (12388) Jim said:

I'd like to know where, even with an existing Ancestry sub I can't see anything less than £39.99 (excluding upgrades).

If the route to syncing FH with Ancestry hints involves buying FTM I can't see many people forking out 40 quid.

I bought it for £19.99 with no subscriptions to Ancestry as I have that already. Here is a site: http://www.genealogysupplies.com/family ... aker-2014/

As with other sites I looked at, that £19.99 price is for an upgrade from a previous vesion. If you don't have FTM already you have to buy a full version at £39.99. That's my reading of it.

If you want a copy and you shop in Tesco you can buy a copy for £19 of Tesco vouchers with 6 months UK ancestry.

David, I bought it from Ancestry in late February 2015 for £19.99...perhaps the "upgrade" is deliberately misleading...it upgrades you from Ancestry to Ancestry with FTM perhaps :)

Thanks Jane...useful !

EDIT: I just phoned the Ancestry shop on 0345 688 5114. They confirm the £19.99 version is full working and you don't need a previous version...it comes with basic Ancestry subscription only but the software is fine despite their own words (previous version). And it worked for me.

try http://www.amazon.co.uk/Family-Tree-Mak ... bscription

GET THE RIGHT EDITION FOR YOU

these offers change so they might be there sometimes and not others, and I seem to recollect that Ancestry have offers from time to time. You might have to look around. In this instance you would only do it when renewing (after cancelling) current subscription.
