This is not a major concern just now, merely a minor irritant, but is something I'd like to get sorted in the long term.
In TMG there is the facility to make a tag "primary". I've found this useful when reporting, for instance, occupation - so that the principle, or over-arching, occupation of an individual may be displayed. In FH, from my admittedly limited investigation so far, it appears that the first instance of a tag or event is treated as though it is the principle one. Does anyone know how to
(i) cause import to make the primary tag the first instance or
(ii) custom order particular event types, or
(iii) create a primary-like flag?
Thanks

Re: Primary Tags; TMG to FH
This is something that has been requested before, but is not implemented in FH.
The [1]st instance of a Fact is NOT treated as principle, but the default summary of Facts on the Main tab of Property Box does display the [1]st instance of each Fact. This can be easily customised to display for example the [1]st, [last-1], and [last] Occupation. Or you can create an Occupations tab to display all Occupations, etc.

- Importing cannot make a primary tag default to instance [1] at present
- You can use the up/down arrow buttons to adjust the order of any Facts (Events/Attributes)), but as soon as you need to use the general sort Facts into Date order it will undo that ordering.
- You can create a Custom Fact to hold say the primary Occupation. Alternatively, it is possible to use a rarely used sub-field such as TYPE of any Fact to signal which is primary.

This is high in the 'wish-list' for Family Historian and you can vote for it at: Wishlist: Mark preferred Occupation/Event etc

Thanks, Mike.

Re: Primary Tags; TMG to FH
If you can get a TMG Report that identifies the Primary Tags, and you choose say the TYPE tag approach, then a Plugin could perform the necessary changes.
See towards the end of Import from TMG - Missing Some Citations (11462) for a similar example.
