Re: TMG to FH
FH does not have Accent colours, but you can use icons on diagrams and columns on the record window to mark records, you can also use Query result sets and even named lists to give you "jumping off points" for various record sets with in your database.
I am not sure what you mean by "range of dates for locations", you can use queries to filter pretty well anything you want and plugins for really advanced analysis.

Re: TMG to FH
Welcome to the FHUG.
I have moved this posting to Importing and Exporting where it seems more relevant.
FH does support something similar to Accent colours in Diagrams / Charts, although not elsewhere.
Not only Icons but also the Colour/Shape of almost any component of a Diagram Box is conditional.
This includes the Colour & Font of any Text item, box background Fill colour, border Line colour, box Shape, and its Shadow.
By "date range" I suspect you are referring to the TMG Date Conditions applied to Accents.
FH supports an extensive set of Date and other Value operators including = , < , > , <= , >= , and , or , not , plus several Date and Age Functions.
All of these can be used in Conditions to customise the Diagram Box features above, and govern the content of Query Results, Records Window Columns, Property Box Captions, etc.

Re: TMG to FH
For info.
From an earlier life with TMG I believe the "date range for locations" refers to an ability to define a period during which a specific "location name" existed, i.e. to record dates of changes in Local Authority County names or Town/City names etc.; and if you defined such dates TMG would only accept that location name for events in the valid period. I am not aware of any similar feature in FH.

Re: TMG to FH
You correct Mervyn. The TMG Help says under Edit Place:
I am not aware of such a feature in FH, but I think it would be quite easy to write a Query or a Plugin to validate such entries. I know this would not warn you at the point of entry, but if run regularly would achieve much the same result.Start and End Dates
You can associate start and end dates with a place if you wish. If you enter a start or end date in a place record, TMG will validate the date of any event entered in that place and tell you if the event falls outside the date range for that place. If you have zeros in both date fields, then no validation is done on the date in relationship to the place. Remember that all of the place fields must match the place record which contains the start and end dates in order for this to work.
