Project version number in *.fh_proj

I note that in the file
..... \PROJ\Family Historian Sample Project\Family Historian Sample Project.fh_proj
it gives 2 lines:

Code: Select all

[Family Historian]
Version=5
Whereas my newly imported from Gedcom file from TMG shows:

Code: Select all

[Family Historian]
Version=4
Is there any significance in that? Will there be features I can't use?

My About shows I have version 5.0.9

Just checked my Projects, and they say Family Historian 4, so I don't think it will make any difference at all.

Jim, I don't know how you spotted that, but I don't think it is important.

I have several Projects that were created with FH V4 and their .fh_proj file is also Version 4.

Whereas, the Projects I have created with FH V5 have their .fh_proj file containing Version 5.

Except those imported Projects using FH V5 as you say have .fh_proj file containing Version 4, which I suspect is minor oversight in the FH program.

I have not noticed any difference in features amongst any of these Projects.

Thanks for those observations, I might email Calico with them to ensure there are no problems and it is not carried forward to V6. Just a bit disconcerting.

Ros at Calico Pie says:
Yes it's fine, the project file is simply a "holding point" for the folder. I will pass the message on the developers to review.
so no need to panic.
