Residence to Census

Having imported a file from a relation who used Ancestry all the Census entries are labelled Residence so it's impossible to generate a Census report. Is there an easy way to convert the data or will I have to use Ancestral Sources to input the data as Census entries?
Thanks.

Anthea, please use the
User Control Panel centre top, and then the
Profile tab to set your
Family Historian version.
If you are using
FH V5 then the
Change Any Fact Tag Plugin will do the job for you.
Run the Plugin and select
Source Tag Name =
Residence and
Target Tag Name =
Census.
Then the
Residence to Census button will convert
ALL Residence facts to
Census facts, but you can selectively choose which ones to convert if some are genuine
Residence facts.
If you know the
Date or
Place for the Residence (Census) facts, then these fields act as filters.

That is OK, but please use the User Control Panel centre top, and then the Profile tab to set your Family Historian version.
That helps us help you, because problem solutions often depend on the FH Version.

Hi Mike,
can't find a User Control Panel centre top as suggested. Is it within FH or elsewhere.
Thanks

Hi Mike,
ignore previous message. I see you meant top of this page.....that's the trouble with using a small screen!
Thanks
