Family Historian User Group

I wish to share my family tree with another member of the family - can someone please tell me the best (and easiest!) way to do this? Many thanks

Persuade them to install Family Historian on their PC is the easiest and best way.
Then you can simply send them your Project folder on a pen drive memory stick.
Alternatively, you could both use fhugdownloads:contents:dropbox|> Dropbox or fhugdownloads:contents:microsoft_skydrive|> SkyDrive and they will get updates every time you update your Project (or they update theirs).
Anything else gets more complex and offers fewer features.

Thanks for your reply but the relative I wish to send the family tree to only has a tablet and someone has installed a GEDCOM reader on it to enable download. I don't know if he wishes to change or add info or whether he just wishes to see what I have amassed over the years.

Is it possible then for me to send him what I have in GEDCOM form or should I copy onto a memory stick and post off to him?

You should just be able to send him the Gedcom file from your FH project folder. Don't forget that the Gedcom file will not include any images with it, it is just the data. The size of your tree will probably not be too big to email so you shouldn't need a stick. Alternatively just put it on Dropbox, Skydrive etc for them to download.

What sort of tablet?
iPad or Android or what?
Which GEDCOM reader?
There are many GEDCOM apps and some much better than others.

This gives advice regarding various GEDCOM apps for various tablets.

Some GEDCOM apps have PC programs to convert your FH GEDCOM to tablet GEDCOM.
You may need to use FH File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File to create a GEDCOM outside your Project.
