Just been looking at the 1841 census for Amelia Francis, on Ancestry. I was surprised to see 2, on looking further it is the same set of entries, but its like one set has been entered clockwise and the other going in the opposite direction. Both have same ref RG107/137/9 Not an Ancestry anomoly but some duplication by the ennumeraters I guess. Has anyone elsr come accrss this? or does it have some other meaning I have missed?

Not something I've come across before, an interesting find! I see there are lots of duplicated families in that enumeration district. I think that it can't be anything other than a mistake by the enumerators and presumably means that the statistics for the number of people living in the town were wrong too.

Yes, I've had that sort of duplication as well, although one of them has a line drawn through it. They obviously discovered therir mistake but it remained on the record.
I have also had several instances of a person/persons being recorded at two places on the same census. It is usually one at home and one at work; or one at home and one staying with relatives. In both cases I suspect the person was NOT actually at home on census night!
