Consular staff records

Does anyone know where one would go to access records for staff of overseas UK embassies ?

For example, I have discovered that my Great-Uncle Edward Browne worked as an officer at the British Consolate in Budapest, Hungary in the 1960s and I wondered if it would be possible to find out more about his career (since I am his only remaining relative).

I presume Consular staff are classed as Civil servants employed by the foreign office, so have you looked through this page?
