Ancestry - West Yorkshire parish records

Post by ireneblackburn » 25 Jun 2011 10:48

For those of you interested, I noticed while looking for a burial that some transcribers have missed surnames because the register includes extra information, so if instead of George Lee aged 5 it says George son of William Lee, aged 5 you will only find him if you search by George with no surname. You will see what I mean if you give it a try.

Ancestry - West Yorkshire parish records

I'm in heaven with these records! Mostly I am confirming proper dates which I only had from the IGI before. This has lead me to the suspicion that some of the parishes do not have the correct name attached to them. I have emailed Ancestry who say they are looking into it .... meanwhile just watch out!
