Decipher a parish record entry

Post by wyerd » 04 Aug 2011 17:18

Hi,

Can someone please decipher an entry on a parish record please. It's taken from a badly scratched microfilm and the style of writing is not easy for me to read.

I'm particularly interested in the line that is marked with a *.

Many thanks,
David.

Decipher a parish record entry

Possibly:

Nathaniel the son of Nathaniel Timbrill by his wife (unnamed) Bap: Decembr: the 3 (1735)

'y' being a contraction of 'th' (actually the old letter 'thorn' pronounced 'th').

Decipher a parish record entry

Not totally sure but my first thought was:

Nathanaile a son of Nathanaile Ti... and wife
Baptized 3rd of Dec

I then looked on Family Search and this seems to be the entry:

https://familysearch.org/search/recordD ... CSQ-9P7/p1

where the transcriber has read the surname as Timbrell

Hope this helps

Nick

[Edit: I see that Gerry has beaten me to it!]
