Convert PDF to JPG on a Mac
The Windows program 'PDF2JPG File Converter' which was recently made available in the downloads section is a nifty little program which is able to convert all the pages of a pdf file to jpg in one go.
For those of you with Mac computers you can use the Preview application to convert one page at a time, although this is, admittedly, not so convenient for multi-page pdfs.
To use Preview you should:
1. CTRL-Click on the file and choose Open With>Preview.app
2. Select the page to be converted and then go to File>Export...
3. In the drop down Format: selector choose JPEG (or whatever format you want); choose the Quality and Resolution (or leave at the default)
4. If required, change the file name in the Export As: (If saving mulit-page pdfs you may want to add a page number at the end of the file name.)
5. Choose the folder where the file is to be saved.
6. Click on Save.
If you just want to extract part of a page (say a photo and caption) Preview is your friend:
Click on the select icon (or use CMD+3); drag the crosshair to select the required portion of the page; click on File>New from Clipboard (CMD+N) to paste the image to a new page and then File>Save (CMD+S) to save in your preferred format (the default is pdf so change this if required.)
(PS: Does anyone know of a good Mac program to extract jpegs from multipage pdfs in one go?)

Thanks for the offer, i tried this converter but it doesn't let me choose a DPI setting. I really miss that feature.
Now i have to use an online conversion program like http://pdfjpg.net but that is slower.
Does anyone knows a free alternative?

You can instead use opensource xpdf library http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/ that does the PDF to JPG conversion. Also see its UI http://pdf-to-jpg-convert.en.softonic.com
