My Uncle, Roland Sewell (born 20 April 1922 in Birmingham), was a Navigator during WW2 and I would dearly love to obtain more details about his service in the RAF. Unfortunately I do not have a service number but I do have various photographs for him and from what I know & from what I have gleaned from the photographs, he trained mainly in Canada (but as you can see from below - not exclusively). The photographs in order have details as follows:-
Jan 1942 No. 1, Initial Training Wing, Torquay. 'C' Flight, 3 Sqdn
Sept 1942, Training at Mount Hope, Nr Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Nov 1942, Course 57B, Mount Hope, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Nov 1942, Grand Island, USA
Dec 1942. Course 57B, Graduates, Mount Hope, Hamilton, Ontario
Xmas 1942, Milton, Ontario, Canada
Dec 1942, Co 23B, 31 General Reconnaissance School, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Jan 1942. Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Photo says he is a newly commissioned Officer (Navigator) in RAF.
1944/45 Signals Training Section, East Fortune, Nr. Edinburgh, Scotland.
Can anyone suggest how I might proceed from here to obtain more details about his service? I know this is a long shot, but I would dearly like some help if anybody can!!!
Thanks
* My Uncle
