Need help translating Latin

Post by DragonLady » 28 Feb 2015 01:51

Okay I took one year of Latin in High School (almost 30 years ago now) I think I have translated this correctly but I am not sure, and I stupidly forgot to write down what church this record it was from if anyone has access to Ancestry.com I would appreciate knowing what Church and where. :roll: I have attached a jpeg of the image (had to crop from the page).

My translation;
Born - 16 March 1876
Baptized - 26 March 1876
Named - Michael Joseph Fallon
Father - Thomas Fallon
Mother - Mary Ann Fallon (Brannan)
Godfather - Jacob Fallon
Godmother - Maria Churchill

I am almost positive this is my 2x Great Uncle, youngest son of the couple. Could Jacob Fallon be his Uncle and as such my 3x Great Uncle? Would that mean that Maria Churchill is probably my 3x Great Aunt (by marriage)?

Yet another weird coincidence my Grandmother (his Great Niece) was born 16 March 1931.

Remember that Jacobus = James, Maria = Mary
