FH files and the Cloud?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to raise this, or it's dealt with somewhere in front of my nose, but I would like to keep my master FH project file in the Cloud (say on Skydrive) so that I can work on it at any one of my various computers and not have to update/sync local files. Has anyone any experience of this? So far I can't get it to work. Thanks.

There is plenty on this topic at
FHUG Downloads ~ Synchronise & Backup Tools.
In particular checkout
SkyDrive and
Dropbox.
What have you tried, and what did not work?

Thanks Mike. Couldn't see Skydrive or Dropbox mentioned on that page, and the useful link appears to be mainly about migrating from one PC to another. The issue I'm facing is that these cloud sites generally accept/upload individual files only, not folders, so I have to re-create the folder structure for FH and put the files into it. I suspect then that the FH program simply doesn't recognise the new structure so can't make the necessary connections. Certainly hasn't worked yet, so I'm looking for a workaround or solution from someone who's done it already. Any help appreciated.

I have FH running with the
Family Historian Projects folder in the
SkyDrive folder within
My Documents on my two PC.
Are you sure you have downloaded & installed the latest
SkyDrive application specified in the
Utility ~ Microsoft SkyDrive page?
When run this creates the
SkyDrive folder in your
My Documents folder on your PC.
It then synchronises anything in that folder with the cloud.
You do not drag & drop files to
SkyDrive as you had to with its earlier incarnation.
See
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/skyd ... -cant-faq# and open details for
Sorry, SkyDrive can't upload folders or empty files.
It is worth persevering with
SkyDrive because you get
7MB free instead of only
2MB.

The downside with skydrive, is that it will not work with Win XP, whereas dropbox does.
I have also tried Google drive.
This takes far to long to synchronise, and then converts any text files to google docs, so they then not synchronised to the google drive folder on the PC.

I have been using Skydrive until last month (Jan) when it stuck on 'Processing Changes' which according to the forum is a big problem and is still not fixed after six weeks!! Worst of all Skydrive started to delete some of my files so I have lost trust in the system and have stopped using it.
Unfortunately Dropbox is about four times the cost so I have put cloud storage on hold for my 10Gb requirements.
