Missing link on FH generated website

Post by fivnten » 21 Jun 2006 20:00

Hi!
I am probably being super-obtuse here, but I'm having a problem with a missing link!
I have set up my website using the FH 3 wizard, and included a link to a picture of a diagram -  my direct ancestors.
I created the diagram, saved it as a .png doc and created the link via the wizard.
I uploaded the site using Dreamweaver, and all is well except that when one clicks the link to the Diagram, all one gets is a red cross - no picture.
I tried again saving the diagram as a .jpg - re-uploaded the site - and still the same problem.
Any ideas please?
Everything else seems to be fine.
The URL is
http://www.hoadly.com
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers
Graham Hoadly

Missing link on FH generated website

Post by NickWalker » 21 Jun 2006 22:48

The image link is pointing to:

http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/hoa ... estors.jpg

the %20 will represent spaces so I guess the image it is trying to show is:
_toc_graham hoadly - immediate ancestors.jpg

It looks like the web server is case sensitive (probably a linux server) so it is important that the file name is identical to the image reference: if there are any capital letters in the file name then they need to be capitals in the image reference too.

Hope this helps and makes sense.
