I have noticed that when I upload a gedcom file to GR that where I have a Quarter date in FH the date is blank in GR. I don't want to remove the information from FH so is there any other way around this?

I assume this is another GR limitation.
The only thing I can suggest is to make a copy of the file and use a text editor or FH to remove the date ranges and try again with GR.

Is there a fast way to change all of the date ranges to single years? Or do I have to do them one by one?

If you use a text editor like PSPAD you should be able to replace using a global expresion like this

BET [JAO][APUC][NRLT] dddd AND [MJSD][AUE][RNPC]
and replacing it with nothing, make sure you have global expresions selected.
This should remove the date ranges for the Quarter dates. Leaving the year intact
