I am guessing you are version 2?

If so you need to edit the Text scheme to remove the preferred option from the end of the Name lines in each box type so you have just
%INDI.NAME%

I think you have 2.3.5, this is a Version 2 release.

Version 3 is a new paid for upgrade, which has a reworked set of text schemes and text scheme maintenance.

Can you tell me when version 3 came out?
when I bought the one I have I thought I was buying the latest edition and that was on the 8 Jun 2005 and I paid £44.90 for it.
I had been using Generations for years untill I changed to Windows XP then I discovered it was not compatible so I changed to Family Historian. I printed off the User Manual which I do find a bit intimidating, and not all that easy to follow. I like things simple.

Thank you Mike. I see I am way behind the times.  I will probably have to invest in the upgrade.
