Does anyone use a genealogy program on a PDA? I'd be interested on any feedback and how well it works when you import the Family Historian gedcom file.
Many thanks

I use Pocket Genealogist which imports almost all the data, with obvious exceptions like media, at least on the version I use. I think you can download a trial copy to see if you like it

Thank you Jane. I'll have a look at that and see if I can try it out.

I have a Palm PDA and have downloaded My Roots from the palm website which I find works really well with gedcom files

I too, use pocket genealogist (V3) on my PDA. I find it useful when on a journey to use it to make lists of the facts I need to check, sources I need to verify and/or copy, etc. The screen size / resolution makes it hard to 'browse' or to see more than just a small segment of a family, but it is still worth the comparatively low cost.
It also took me a while to work out that I needed to re-create the database from the FH Gedcom, so I only do that about once a month.

I use GedStar to put my FH files on my Palm Tungsten T3 and it works perfectly. However it uses 'quick install' and this is not compatible with Vista. Anyone got any ideas?

After a brief trawl I've found a shareware utility called PalmVista (
http://www.btsolved.com/), which is basically a Vista compatible replacement for the Quick Install.
I'm (un?)fortunately using XP rather than Vista, so haven't hit the problem yet (and hence haven't used the app), but references to it appear to give it the thumbs up. I'd be interested to know how you get on though if you try it.

There was no free trial for PalmVista so I didn't try it. Many thanks for looking.
I have now thrown Vista away and gone back to XP. However, FH worked perfectly with Vista and with my new widescreen monitor you can see all of every column.
